About

Hi, I’m Jessica A. Kent — a strategic content writer who believes great writing is the bridge between expertise and impact.

I’ve spent more than 20 years helping organizations and leaders turn ideas into stories that connect, inspire, and move. My work combines creative craft with strategic clarity — grounded in a belief that the words you choose shape how people see you.

I’ve written for tech startups and universities, authors and executives, festivals and brands — but my focus is always the same: using writing as a tool for connection and credibility.

Before launching my freelance practice, I managed content for Harvard Business School’s Prematriculation Program, overseeing a 100+ page website, launching a student storytelling blog, and creating communications that engaged thousands of incoming students. I also helped grow engagement for the Boston Book Festival and founded Literary Boston, a website that covers and celebrates the city’s literary culture.

As a freelance writer, I’ve ghostwritten thought leadership articles for CEOs published in Forbes, Fast Company, and Newsweek; crafted white papers, reports, and case studies that clarify complex ideas; and written website and newsletter content that builds trust and authority.

My background bridges the creative and analytical. I hold a BFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College and an MA in Literature from Harvard University, where my thesis on Moby-Dick received the Director’s Prize for Outstanding Thesis.

Today, I bring that same love of language and structure to every client I work with, helping them articulate what makes them different, what they stand for, and why it matters.

Because when writing is crafted with care, it doesn’t just inform — it moves.
