Elevate your content strategy through
Story and Systems.

The best higher ed content programs run on two engines: Story and Systems.

You need Story: the narrative, emotion, argument, and storytelling craft that make your expertise resonate.

You need Systems: a repeatable process for turning story into content that consistently reaches and serves your audience.

That’s where Kent Content comes in.

Higher ed is full of stories, ideas, and expertise worth sharing. I help higher ed marketers, program teams, and faculty shape that knowledge into clear, useful content — and build the systems to keep it working.

Hi! I’m Jessica A. Kent.

I help higher ed marketers, program teams, and faculty turn scattered content into clear stories, useful resources, and sustainable content systems.

My approach draws on more than 10 years in higher ed administration, communications, marketing, and student services, including content-heavy work at Harvard Business School. It’s also shaped by six years of helping founders and CEOs develop ghostwritten thought leadership featured in Newsweek, Fast Company, Forbes, and other publications, and by a lifelong study of literature, writing, and storytelling.

Content Strategy

For higher ed teams, programs, centers, and mission-driven organizations that need to turn scattered content into a clearer, more strategic system.

This work helps you clarify what to create, why you’re creating it, who it’s for, where it should live, when it should go out, and how the content system should actually work.

Ideal for clients who are asking:

  • Why does our content feel scattered?

  • Are we creating the right content for the right audience?

  • How should our content support our institutional, program, or audience goals?

  • What should our content pillars be?

  • How do we build a usable editorial calendar?

  • Where are our workflow, review, or approval bottlenecks?

  • How do we make content more consistent, purposeful, useful, and effective?

Offerings include Content Strategy Critiques, Content Strategy Design Intensives, and Content Strategy + Implementation Sprints.

Thought Leadership and Positioning Strategy

For faculty, researchers, academic leaders, and experts who want to clarify what they want to be known for and share their ideas with broader audiences.

This work helps you extract, interpret, and articulate your expertise so you can move beyond scattered opportunities and one-off content pieces toward a clearer public voice, stronger thought leadership, and a more strategic approach to sharing your work.

Ideal for faculty and experts who are asking:

  • What do I want to be known for beyond my institution or discipline?

  • How do I translate my research, teaching, or expertise for a broader audience?

  • What is my larger point of view?

  • Which ideas are most relevant to the audiences I want to reach?

  • How do I turn my expertise into thought leadership, articles, op-eds, talks, interviews, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, or other public-facing content?

Offerings include Faculty Thought Leadership Strategy Sessions, Thought Leadership Design Intensives, and Messaging & Positioning Critiques.
